Scripture Readings – February 2017

Scripture Readings and Writing Plan

Your scripture readings and  writing for the month of February, it’s going to be a great month, I can feel the anticipation in the air. January has come and gone so quickly, before we could even say you had me at hello.

This month it’s all about dreams and setting intentions for our lives, living with purpose.

This space is not about finding your purpose as we all have different purposes in life, it’s about even in the midst where you are finding your purpose, living your life with intention, purpose and filled with dreams.

Throughout February all the scripture readings and writing is what the Bible says about dreams and giving hope to your dreams.

Scripture Reading Day 1

Matthew 6 : 33 : But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

In all this talk of dreams, it is important to remember that your first goal in life is to seek God’s will for our life.

When you do this, He will be faithful to work in all the other areas of your life.

scripture reading day 2

Proverbs 16 : 3 : Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans

It is about living a life with purpose every day and today I want you to think about a new dream or pursuing a dream you have, today take the time to commit or re-commit your dream to the Lord.

scripture reading day 3

Psalm 37 : 4 : Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart

Today I want you to think about what does it mean to you to delight yourself in the Lord?

I want you to think about how does your relationship with Him influence what your heart wants?

scripture reading day 4

Matthew 19 : 26 Jesus looked at them and said “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”

I want you to think how big is your dream, is it big, is it so big that only God can do it?

Write about your dream today and remember to live your life today with purpose.

scripture reading day 5

Numbers 23 : 19 : God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

God is the giver of dreams, trust Him and thank him for His faithfullness.

scripture reading day 6

Psalm 34 : 18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

God does not leave you alone, if your heart is hurting today, reflect on this remember and know and thank God for being close to you. He never leaves you.

scripture reading day 7

2 Corinthians 4 : 8 – 9 : We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed

Think about what part of this scripture resonated specially with you?

Have you thought about how you can experience difficulty without despair?

scripture reading day 8

1 Peter 1 : 6-7 : In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trails. These have come so than the proven genuineness of your faith – of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, – may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed

Do know this trials are only temporary, the faith and maturity they create in us lasts for a lifetime.

scripture reading day 9

Romans 15 : 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

Are you in need of hope today?

Ask God to fill you with hope by the power of the Spirit?

scripture reading day 10

Romans 8 : 31 – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us.

God is for you today? Thank him for his blessings and his care for you no matter what is happening in your life.

scripture reading day 11

Luke 4 : 13 : When the devil had finished all his tempting, he left him until an opportune time

Remember that Jesus knows what it means to be tempted and can help you resist.

scripture reading day 12

1 Corinthians 10 : 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

When you face those challenges, it’s easy to feel that you are alone and that no one has ever experienced challenges as yours.

Here’s the thing that we all share common struggles, share with your friends and ask for encouragement and support so that you can endure.

scripture reading day 13

Luke 16 : 10 Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much

I want you to think about this, Joseph rose in power and authority, he worked hard at every job that was given to him, no matter how small the job.

What are some of the tasks that you are tempted to skip over. Can you commit in doing them with excellence this week.

scripture reading day 14

Matthew 6 : 13 : And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one

Jesus taught us to pray for strength to resist the temptations we face.

Ask God today to give you the strength today and thank him for the way He delivers you.

scripture reading day 15

James 1 : 2 – 4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

If you are struggling right now, remember that God can use these trials to build your character – and that strong character rooted in Christ enables you to overcome every distraction.

scripture reading day 16

Romans 8 : 26 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose

This verse does not say only good things will happen to us if we follow God, but that He can bring good out of all things.

In what part of your life do you need to claim that promise today?

scripture reading day 17

Isaiah 41 : 10 So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Spend some time praying through this verse asking God to help you have courage and to have insight on how He is working in your life.

scripture reading day 18

Matthew 1 : 23 The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means God with us)

The very name of Jesus means that He is with us. No matter what you are going through today, take comfort in knowing that Jesus is walking you through it.

scripture reading day 19

Psalm 143 : 8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life

How does worrying about other people’s actions trip us up?

Is there something you need to entrust to God today?

scripture reading day 21

1 Timothy 4 : 12 : Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity

When we look at Joseph, even if he was a young person, he was a person of character who knew what it meant to follow God.

No matter what your age, God has a dream for you.

scripture reading day 22

scripture reading day 24

Big moments of breakthrough happen occasionally, but much of success is daily hard work.

How can you be more diligent and consistent in working toward your dream and living a life with purpose.

scripture reading day 24

1 Timothy 4 : 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, trading promise for both the present life and the life to come

Ask God to grow your character and maturity as you seek His will.

scripture reading day 26

Habakkuk 2 : 3 For the revelation awaits on appointed time, it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay

If you are still waiting for God to reveal His dream for you, do not be discouraged continue to ask Him to reveal his revelation to you. It will certainly come.

scripture reading day 27

Zephaniah 33 : 17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you, in this love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing

scripture reading day 28

Proverbs 19 : 21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

As we wrap up this scripture reading remember that you are to work hard at identifying and working toward your God sized dreams but that ultimately His purposes will come to pass and those plans are bigger than you can imagine.
