Comparing your purpose to others
Life is made up of moments and even if we say we don’t worry what others think of us, we do. I want to include a note here to say that it is totally normal, and you are not alone in your reaction.
The problem is that when our thoughts are consumed of what others say and think of us – this is where the comparison game comes in. The problem is that when we do this we keep from reaching our true potential. It’s not that we should not care, it’s about what we make with what we think others think that matters.
It’s coming back to your purpose in life – not others. Fulfilling your purpose in God – not others.
We all have a purpose and when we walk in God’s will we follow His purpose, we all have a specific gifting. I cannot keep a tune for the life of me, I can somewhat hum along when need be, it’s not my gifting. I love to encourage people, I love to give that is part of my gifting. If I had to compare myself to the person next to me who had the most beautiful voice I would fall short by far. It’s my thoughts that count and being appreciative of the next person’s gifting. That is happiness.
When we have this idea of what we would love to do and then when we look around us and think, maybe not as we don’t know what others might think.
For a moment park that thought give it to God and if it is what He wants for you and if you take the first steps, God always opens a door. Don’t let your purpose in God be set aside with thoughts of what others might think. I would love to have the perfect voice, for now I will have to wait for one day and sing with angels.
We all have opinions about life based on our own life experiences, we see life through our own life filters. We have our own disappointments our own successes. We all have different qualities, some of us are more compassionate, others more tenacious, and that makes us all so wonderfully made and interlinked. Each gifting is unique to our-self.
When we do walk in your purpose, keep God at the forefront, keep in mind not to compare ourselves with others and know that each one of us have a special gifting that is not comparable to the next person as we all have different life filters.
