Make Room for Compassion
In the world we live in, you need to make room for compassion. It is so easy to just go through the motions without noticing or being aware of what’s happening in and around you. When you wake up with a gratitude in your heart for people, you make place for possibilities and opportunities in and around you.
You have to remember to have compassion to yourself first, then you can give the same for others. Why do I say so? Being compassionate towards yourself you have learned to trust yourself and forgive others.
Compassion is for all people even for those people you don’t like, you have to give yourself the space to be compassionate, even in the not liking. This is sometimes hard, it’s giving yourself the space to feel the emotion. It’s OK not to like some people, the difference is when you do it with compassion and kindness you let go of the hatred. Then you can move into a space of letting go and a restfulness within yourself.
Compassion has to do with your heart space, how you feel and connect with others. Through this connectivity with ourselves we understand gratefulness. Compassion deal with our emotions, how we feel towards a person or a situation. Being compassionate takes a lot of courage. You have to look at both sides – your side and the other person’s side. You don’t have to agree with what is happening, when you do have that compassionate moment, the difference is the way you would handle or deflect a situation. You become a kinder version of yourself, even though you get your point made – with compassion.
“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” – Sam Levenson
