Bible Study Guide on Joy
In this week’s Bible Study Guide on joy – it’s all about joy. The joy of new beginnings, the joy of letting go and feeling fresh, the joy of starting a new year with new hopes and dreams.
God’s word describes joy as full and complete. Joy carries us through when times are tough, joy is supernatural and comes from within, it’s this real joy that the Holy Spirit gives you in moments of joy and suffering.
Happiness is fleeting, you feel happy in a moment, yet joy speaks to our souls.
Journal and reflect your moments of joy. Your moments of joy is those moments that you share with others and speaks to a bigger purpose and to your gifting. What brings you joy in the Lord, the gift of sharing, giving, encouragement, mentoring, see how you can bring your gifting to those around you this year.
Write down and reflect on scriptures that speak to your joy. I want to encourage you to live with joy.
126 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
