You and Self Compassion
Self compassion is one of the most important acts of kindness you can give yourself. All of us on a daily basis struggle with so many thoughts that flicker across our minds. At any given moment if only one thought captures that time it can quickly move over to self-criticism.
It could be a flickering of a thought as I’m so messed up or why can’t I get it together or I am not good enough. When self-criticism moves forward into action where you isolate yourself from others that’s the moment you know you need to be more self compassionate and need to take care of yourself.
Here are a few self compassionate thoughts to have when you are struggling with self-criticism.
- We all as human beings struggle on a daily basis.
- None of us are alone.
- This is a moment in time.
- This too shall pass.
- Life goes wrong some of the time, not all of the time.
Instead of beating yourself with a stick when the self-criticisms come, give yourself a self-compassionate thought and a wee bit of a break. When those criticisms come give them the boot with a few motivations along the way. I’m not saying that you won’t have all those criticism’s. It’s when you do, know that it’s a moment, we all have them and move on.
